Heavy Quarkonia at High Temperature
نویسنده
چکیده
We present a new method to study the properties of heavy quarks at finite temperature. It combines non-relativistic QCD with an improved gluonic action on anisotropic lattices. The efficiency of the approach is demonstrated by the first non-perturbative calculation of the temperature dependence of low-lying quarkonium ”pole” masses. For ground state meson masses in the region between charmonium and bottomonium we find only very little variation up to our highest temperature which corresponds to T ≈ 1.2 Tc while first excited states indicate a large mass shift.

Spectra of Quarkonia at Finite Temperature
Finite-temperature spectra of heavy quarkonia are calculated by combining potential model and thermofield dynamics formalisms. The mass spectra of the heavy quarkonia with various quark contents are calculated. It is found that binding mass of the quarkonium decreases as temperature increases.a Quarkonia; finite-temperature spectra; thernofield dynamics.
متن کاملOn the Temperature-Dependence of Quarkonia Correlators
Abstract. Here I review the temperature-dependence of heavy quarkonia correlators in potential models with three different screened potentials, and compare these to the results from lattice QCD. None of the potentials investigated yield results consistent with the lattice data, indicating that screening is likely not the mechanism for heavy quarkonia suppression. I also discuss a simple toy mod...

We study charmonia correlators at finite temperature. We analyze to what extent heavy quarkonia correlators are sensitive to the effect of heavy quark transport and whether it is possible to constrain the heavy quark diffusion constant by lattice calculations. Preliminary lattice calculations of quarkonia correlators performed on anisotropic lattices show that they are sensitive to the effect o...
متن کاملS-Wave Quarkonia in Potential Models
For the last twenty years the melting of heavy quark bound states has been considered an unambiguous signal for deconfinement [1]. Understanding the modification of the properties of heavy quarkonia in a hot medium is therefore essential for understanding deconfinement. Phenomenological studies based on potential models have been recently accompanied by lattice QCD calculations. The temperature...
متن کاملHeavy Quarkonia Production in p+p Collisions from the PHENIX Experiment
Quarkonia provide a sensitive probe of the properties of the hot dense medium created in high energy heavy ion collisions. Hard scattering processes result in the production of heavy quark pairs that interact with the collision medium during hadronization. These in-medium interactions convey information about the fundamental properties of the medium itself and can be used to examine the modific...
